Mission: To Foster, nurture, and enhance the quality of life and to serve as a leader, catalyst, and resource for philanthropy.
History: The Somerset Community Foundation was established in 2012, as an affiliated foundation of the St. Croix Valley Foundation, to enhance the quality of life for all who live and work in the Somerset area. It makes grants for local projects, causes, and organizations and is known for the annual Apple Splash races, which raise funds for community improvements.
Impact: Facilitated meetings, provided leadership and sustained a food pantry in Somerset, known as the Somerset Community Food Pantry. Donated $375.00 to Grace Place and the Backpack Program.
Grant Opportunities: Grants are generally awarded to nonprofit programs, projects, and organizations that improve the quality of life in Somerset and the surrounding area. Grants should promote the arts, education, and human services and wellness.
Upcoming Events: The Somerset Community Foundation is currently organizing a third annual Apple Splash ½ Marathon and 5K Race taking place on September 17. See our website www.applesplashfestival.com for more information.
